SIMA Surf Championships

-> Civil War Re-enactment - September 4 through weekend
Setup begins on Friday with encampments forming. The event will be held throughout the weekend with four battles, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Musical acts, military drummers, costumed non-professional actors, and fans of US history love this event. The public is invited to attend and learn about the flags, ceremonies, lifestyles and battles that took place during the U.S. Civil War, happening around the time that California became a state. Do something good to help someone with cancer while having a great night of fun doing so! Gallaghers downtown HB will host a fundraiser for Rene Benson who was recently diagnosed with cancer. There will be a raffle for some great prizes donated from the local restaurants and retailers, and the famed blues guitarist Joe Wood will be doing a live performance. Great raffle items include stuff donated from Duke's, Billabong, Aloha Grill, Hurley, Sharkeez, Tuna Town, Sullen and so much more.
